Oil Refinery May Have Flooded Neighborhood

Roberts Wilson, P.A. | September 29, 2017

About 150 residents in the Houston Texas area have filed a lawsuit against Phillips 66 and Chevron Phillips.  The lawsuit alleges that the oil giants diverted or dammed bayous which forced water onto their neighbors.   This is a big “No, No”  If you divert water or cut off drainage from another’s property, you can be held liable for the damages that result.

In this instance, the oil companies are accused of flooding and ruining as many as 150 homes in hurricane ravaged region.  Many of the homes survived the initial storm only to be inundated later, after the alleged diversion of the canal or bayou.
