INFANT IBUPROFEN RECALL

Roberts Wilson, P.A. | December 7, 2018

Drug Company Tris Pharma has issued a voluntarily recall on infant painkiller from three stores: CVS, Walmart, and Family Dollar. The company recalled “Concentrated Oral Suspension, USP (NSAID), 50 mg per 1.25 mL” sold in 0.5 ounce bottles. Tris Pharma believes the liquid medication could contain more concentrated amounts of ibuprofen. Because they can be more susceptible to a “higher potency level of drugs,” infants are at a greater risk of permanent renal injury; the medication is intended for ages 6-23 months.

The recalled medications are for each store’s respective brand: CVS Health, Equate, and Family Wellness, and have expiration dates of February, April, or August of 2019.

Please, check your medicine cabinet! If you have this medicine, throw it away or return it IMMEDIATELY.
