2017 Traffic Fatalties – Grim Statistics!

Roberts Wilson, P.A. | February 17, 2018

The result are coming in folks and the the statistics for 2017 are grim. We are up significantly from 2015 and statically very close to 2016, meaning only slight improvement.

The national safety council is estimating that over 40,000 people died in car or truck crashes this past year. That’s insane! And to put that into perspective, the population of Lafayette county, the home of Ole Miss, is about 50,000.

What Can You Do?

  • Put down the phone!
  • Don’t drink and drive
  • Don’t use any mood altering substances while driving
  • Don’t use prescription meds while driving (Even taking prescribed drugs can get you a DUI or even a manslaughter charge if someone is killed!)
  • Finally—Drive defensively, AND….
ALWAYS WATCH OUT FOR THE OTHER DRIVER

I’ve said this before but many car crashes can be prevented by simply paying closer attention to the other drivers around you, AND the ones coming  towards you are doing!

Please Stay Safe Mississippi!
